Even though this may seem like a weird concept to you, it actually does work. At the end of every blog is a space just waiting for you to leave a comment.
There are a lot of great and intelligent conversations that are happening after the blog is actually posted. And a lot of times, readers find new blogs to read based on the comments that are there.
Where Do You Start?
Though you may be new at blogging and leaving comments on other blogs, I am sure that you have noticed the plethora of comments that are left on your blog. Start to analzye the type of comments that are left. Do any of them invite your readers to check out their own site?
Another thing to look at, is how many different comments are made. Obviously the first few comments on a site are going to get the most traffic because they will be the first ones to be seen by the readers.
Read through the information they leave and decide why it is appealing to your readers to want to take a look at their sites.
Start Leaving Your own Comments
Once you have really analzyed other comments and commenters well, it is time to start leaving comments. There are probably a large amount of blogs in your niche that you are constantly reading so start there.
A great way to know when someone has added a new post is by subscribing to their RSS feed.
Dont make your comments spammy or full of information just about you and your site. But leave intelligent comments that fit in with the current conversation that is going on. Others will be able to spot out false or spammy messages a mile away and this will not help you get a head.
But if you are sincere and real, this will catch their attention.
A Few More Tips
The more comments that you leave on other sites, the more traffic you will be attracting to your own. It may take a few days or a week for you to really notice the change, but it will come and so will the traffic. After you have gotten into a good pattern of leaving comments on different blogs, try to maintain that pattern but add a few new blogs every now and then.
